Coatings

To further enhance the performance of our tools, we offer the absolute finest, PVD & CVD coatings available in the world. We offer coatings that enhance lubricity, increase surface hardness and/or increase heat resistance. With our knowledge & industry experience, we can select to proper PVD or CVD coating that will substantially increase tool life for whichever cold, warm or hot heading application you may be faced with in your production.

The coating is heat treated together with the tool which creates a bond between the coating & steel material. This is an excellent coating for all trimming applications on trimmers or boltmakers.

Heat Treatment

We firmly believe a large part of tool life rests in the quality of the heat treatment of that tool. That is why we heat treat all our recess heading tools in-house, using the most current, state-of-the-art Ipsen vacuum heat treatment furnaces. The hardening process of all our tools is conducted in a vacuum while the tempering process is done either in or outside the vacuum, depending on the tool steel being heat treated & the type of tool. Whichever tempering method is used, we never take short cuts with your tooling. All tools are Triple Drawn to assure maximum durability & toughness. And of course, every tool, every lot, every order, is inspected for the required hardness.
